Angela Williams of RKW Hair celebrates 20 years of creating your perfect hairstyle
Angela Williams, an award-winning creative hair stylist, educator and founder of RKW Hair said, “I am thrilled to be celebrating such an incredible milestone. I am so proud of what I have accomplished over the last two decades. It’s a testament to my love and devotion to all things hair and my evolving business”.
In 2012 Angela launched a mobile hairdressing service specifically for brides, RKW Hair, named after her first daughters initials. It has gone from strength to strength. By travelling out to brides, at their chosen location, RKW hair has really found her niche clientele. It therefore makes total logical sense, after 20 years, of dedicating herself to the needs of all things hair, to add a beautiful range of hair accessories to help her clients achieve that perfect look. It also means Angela’s second little girl, Lottie, has part of her achievements named after her Lottie of Love.
Angela continued, “Since 2012 and my change of focus to bridal hair I understand, that on a wedding day, all eyes are on the bride. Through the one-to-one consultation and wedding hair trial appointments, I ensure outstanding hair results that fit the occasion perfectly and are flawless, all day long! I have always consistently delivered great customer care, and pride myself on never letting the bride down as I understand it is important to be dependable. I am professional and passionate from the moment I walk into the wedding venue, the bride’s or their parent’s home, giving salon experience in the comfort of their chosen location.
Over the years I have seen hair trends change dramatically, especially for brides and occasional hair, so I have to stay up to date on all the ever-evolving standards, methods and styles – especially since the launch of Pinterest. I have also witnessed the number and types of wedding venues increase, so now brides can get married in a barn, castle, orangery or even in the woods, which can make bridal prep more complicated. As a consequence, brides’ expectations for their hair have also changed. They might want a fairy-tale wedding hairstyle, Bohemian hair or an elaborate up-do, which can now involve the use of hair accessories, because nailing the hairdo is all part of the beauty styling, to ensure the bride gets those all-important images perfect for sharing on social media.
And yet, I’ve never forgotten my rooky spirit, my enthusiasm and passion for all things hair. I’m more excited now than ever before, as I am inspired by brides and I love that we are part of our client’s most special day, often working alongside leading makeup artists and the best wedding photographers. The buzz never leaves you.”
From RKW Hair inception, Angela has expanded her business, she has won numerous important industry awards, which have included the fiercely competitive Apprentice Hairdresser of the Year, and Employee of the Year and she is also a winner of a Kent Women in Business award. Recently, Angela’s knowledge and experience of bridal hair have led to her becoming involved in styled shoots and has made her an industry trendsetter.
